Our site's secret Pottsville Maroons page was selected the Pennsylvania Destination of the Day, April 1, 2003. I guess it's not a secret anymore.

On Friday, November 23, 2007, "Black Friday", the 100 block of Shenandoah's Main Street was ravaged by fire. The fire apparently started in Berk’s Thrift Store, formerly Davison’s Furniture Store, and quickly grew out of control. Firefighters from three counties were called in to battle the flames. Four buildings were either destroyed or heavily damaged. Below, as seen from Shenandoah Heights, is video taken by Wally Choplick. Click on the "play" arrow to begin video.
